Can I register a property on behalf of someone else?
Since your house is a valuable asset, we need a registered phone number, Email ID, valid ownership proof & ID proof. If you have access to these documents for the property, you can list on someone's behalf.
I don't live in India, can I list a house? How can I do this?
Yes, we have thousands of NRI homeowners who’ve trusted us with their property. We request you to go ahead
Can I rent out the house by keeping a portion of the house locked?
Yes, it is possible for you to list a partially locked house. For instance, if you have a 3 BHK, and you want to keep 1 room locked, you can list it as a 2 BHK house on our platform and clarify the same in the House description.
Can I rent out an unfurnished house through Nestaway?
Basic furnishing, including but not limited to, is a must in every house:
a. Kitchen slab/sink
b. Bathroom fittings
c. Electrical fittings, including switches and lights
d. Doors, Windows & Curtain Rods
Apart from these, we advise you to have wardrobes and geysers as this increases the chances of renting the house. You can contact your Nestaway representative if you need furnishing assistance.
How does Nestaway ensure that you return my house in the same condition I give it to you in?
We keep detailed video recordings of the house at every stage, including when we take the handover from the owner, allow a new tenant in the house, move-out of tenant or final handover back to the owner. The video recordings are judged by our proprietary AI-ML algorithm and cross-verified by our in-house team and charges for any damages/repairs is calculated based on the same. These details are also available to you on your dashboard to ensure complete transparency.
Who takes care of the maintenance fee? Currently it's paid yearly/quarterly to the society?
As Nestaway doesn’t have direct access to the maintenance charges, hence it is difficult for us to ensure timely payments for the same. Hence, we encourage owners to bear the maintenance charges & account for it while deciding the rent of the property.
When will you start paying the rent?I did not find a rent start date in the agreement?
We start paying the rent once the tenant moves-in and starts paying the rent to us. We put in the collection efforts to make sure the rent is passed on to you on or before 5th of every month on a pro-rata basis.
Can I switch to the property management model later? How do I do it?
Yes, you can switch to the property management model by reaching out to your Relationship Manager or by writing to us on help@nestaway.com
How can I cancel the contract?
The contract can be cancelled by either party by giving a 1-month notice, if the house is occupied. If the house is vacant, we shall handover the keys within 7-10 working days of the request being raised.
What is the yearly increment?
Yearly increment is subject to the market norms and ranges anywhere between 5-10%. The rent agreement will be revised after every 11 months.
Can I list the property for free?
Yes. There is no upfront payment on listing the property. We will make all the effort to find you a tenant and adjust our service charges only after finalizing a tenant for you.
